Oven Cleaning Service Cost: Add-On or One-Time?

Stainless steel wall oven and microwave in a kitchen with white cabinets and granite counters

Oven cleaning service cost: $56 added to a house cleaning, included in move-out, oven-only visits, self-clean cycles, door glass. Text for a written price.

By Yuri and Tatiana, owners of Shining Cleanse LLC, a family cleaning company based in Everett, WA and licensed in 10 cities across Snohomish and King County.

With us, oven cleaning costs $56 when you add it to a standard or deep house cleaning, and it is included in every move-in or move-out clean. On its own, an oven visit falls under our 4-work-hour minimum ($240), so it makes sense only alongside other work. The racks are soaked, and the inside is steamed and degreased.

That is the short version. Below is what the $56 buys, why we do not run a cheap oven-only visit, and two common questions: the self-clean button and the glass inside the door.

How much does professional oven cleaning cost?

Our prices, all at the same published rate:

How you book itInside the ovenWhat else you get
Added to a standard cleaning+$56The standard clean, from $240 for a studio or 1 bedroom
Added to a deep cleaning+$56The deep clean, from $300 for a studio or 1 bedroom
Move-in or move-out cleanIncludedFridge and interior windows are included too, from $360
Oven only, nothing else$240 minimum visitFour work hours: use the rest on the kitchen

The add-ons sit side by side on our pricing page: inside the fridge is also $56, interior windows $86. You see them before you book, and nothing is added on the day without asking.

Why a flat $56 and not “from $X”? A flat price is easier for everyone, and it fits an oven in normal condition. If your photo shows an oven that has not been cleaned in years, with a thick carbon layer on the floor and door, we tell you in the quote that it needs extra time, and how much, before you book.

Why is there a minimum for an oven-only visit?

Because the trip costs the same whether we clean one oven or a whole kitchen. Driving across the county, unloading the steamer and setting up takes real time, and a 45-minute visit would cost us more to run than it brings in. So every one-time visit has a 4-work-hour minimum: $240, which is two of us for 2 hours.

Our view: if you are paying for 4 work hours anyway, use them. The oven, the fridge, the range hood, cabinet fronts, the microwave and a proper kitchen floor all fit in that time with room to spare. Or add the oven to a cleaning you were going to book anyway, which is what the $56 add-on is for. We price home cleaning by the hour, so you pay for the hours we actually work, never more than the written price without your yes, and never less than the minimum. The hourly packages show how the hours turn into prices.

Is oven cleaning included in a deep clean?

No, not by default. A deep cleaning covers the outside of the oven, the stovetop with steam, the range hood, and behind the stove if it rolls out. The inside of the oven and the inside of the fridge are add-ons, $56 each. They are both included in a move-in or move-out clean, because a landlord or buyer will open both doors.

If you are planning a move, our list of move-out cleaning mistakes explains why the oven is one of the first things checked. The deep cleaning checklist shows everything else a deep clean covers.

How long does a professional oven clean take?

For an average oven, about an hour of one person’s work, and part of that runs in the background. The racks go first into hot water with dish soap in a sink or tub, and soak while we steam the oven interior and clean the rest of the kitchen. A heavily carbonized oven can take twice as long.

We do not use lye-based oven sprays. The heavy work is done by dry steam from our steam cleaner, then a plant-based degreaser on what steam will not lift. Our article on how we clean an oven without harsh chemicals walks through each step.

Is a self-clean cycle safe before a cleaning?

Whether the self-clean cycle is right for your oven is a question for its owner’s manual, not for us. Manuals for self-cleaning ovens usually describe a cycle of several hours with the door locked until the oven cools, list what to take out first, and often warn that fumes can affect pet birds. Follow yours.

What we can tell you is about timing. Please do not run it the day before we come. The oven may still be warm, the door may still be locked, and the cycle leaves loose ash that has to be wiped out anyway. Turn the oven off a few hours before our arrival, take out any pans you store inside, and leave the rest to us.

Can the glass between oven doors be cleaned?

Often, yes. On many models the inner pane comes out: a few screws at the bottom of the door, slide it out, clean both sides, put it back. We check the model first. Where the glass is not designed to come apart, we clean every side we can reach and tell you the inside surface could not be reached. We will not force a door apart to get at a streak.

We clean ovens in Mukilteo and nine other licensed cities in Snohomish and King County.

FAQ

Do you clean the stovetop and range hood too?

The stovetop is part of every standard and deep cleaning, done with steam. The range hood gets wiped and steamed in a deep clean and a move-out. Neither costs extra; only the inside of the oven and the inside of the fridge are add-ons.

Can I add the oven to a recurring visit?

Yes. Add it to any single visit by text for $56. A few times a year is usually enough; it does not need doing every visit.

Is the oven cleaned in a move-out clean even if I do not ask?

Yes. Inside the oven, inside the fridge and interior windows are part of every move-in and move-out clean at no extra charge.

What if the oven is too far gone?

If years of carbon will not come off with steam and degreaser, we tell you from the photo before booking, and on site we stop and ask before spending extra time. Some enamel stains and burn marks are permanent, and we say so.
