A Family-Owned Cleaning Company in Snohomish County: Why a Former Engineer Cleans Houses

Who runs Shining Cleanse, a family-owned cleaning company in Snohomish County: two owners on every job, $120/hr for two. Text for a written price.

By Yuri and Tatiana, owners of Shining Cleanse LLC, a family cleaning company based in Everett, WA and licensed in 10 cities across Snohomish and King County.

Shining Cleanse is a family-owned cleaning company in Snohomish County run by two owners, Yuri and Tatiana, who do every job themselves: no crews, no employees, no subcontractors. We are based in Everett, licensed in 10 cities across Snohomish and King County, insured for $1,000,000 per occurrence, and a first standard clean starts at $240.

Who owns Shining Cleanse?

I am Yuri, and I own the company with Tatiana. People ask why I went from repairing railway-automation circuit boards to scrubbing bathrooms. The two jobs are closer than they sound: both are about catching small mistakes before they become big ones.

Before Shining Cleanse, I spent five years as a railway-automation technician at a regional rail operator: repairing signal-control modules, calibrating voltage regulators, inspecting safety-critical electronics. That job drilled into me a habit of verification. You do not trust your first read of a multimeter. You check, cross-check, and check once more.

Tatiana and I moved to Washington in early 2024, because the Pacific Northwest looked more like home than anywhere else we had considered. I noticed how many cleaning companies ran like assembly lines: a different crew each time, a fixed time per visit, a generic checklist. We decided to compete on precision instead of size.

Today we offer standard house cleaning, deep cleaning, move-outs, carpet and commercial work, all done by the two of us. You can check our license and insurance like any company’s: search Shining Cleanse LLC in the state Business Lookup, and ask for our Certificate of Insurance.

Why hire an owner-operated cleaning company?

Continuity. When Tatiana and I clean a home, we remember that the dog gets anxious when the vacuum runs near the back room, so we do that room first. We remember which product works on the granite and which on the marble, the gate code, the trash day, the things that are fragile.

The reason is practical: a house we know gets cleaned better, and in less time, than a house a stranger walks into for the first time. That is also why recurring visits have their own fixed price per visit, and the more often we come, the less each visit costs.

The second reason is accountability. The person who quotes your job is the person who cleans it. If something is missed, tell us before we leave and we fix it on the spot; if you notice it later, text within 24 hours and we come back to address it at no charge. How a licensed business compares with an independent cleaner is covered in cleaning company vs independent cleaner.

Who actually cleans my home?

We do, the owners, every visit. There is no one else to send. What that looks like on the day:

  • We text 30 minutes before we arrive and bring everything: a steam cleaner, a vacuum, color-coded microfiber (red for toilets, blue for kitchens) and plant-based, EPA Safer Choice products.
  • We do edges and corners first. The center of a counter is easy. The edge against the wall and the corner where the backsplash meets it are where dust collects, and where you can tell whether anyone cleaned.
  • I do not say a bathroom is done until I have walked back and looked at every surface again. Sometimes the second look finds something.
  • We don’t judge a product by how it looks. Foam and a strong smell do not mean it is working. Steam looks like nothing, and it does most of our work.
  • Move-out cleans and carpet jobs get before-and-after photos. Otherwise we keep notes so the next visit goes faster.

We also say what we do not take on: mold remediation, water damage, biohazard and hoarding cleanouts go to specialists. And if an accident happens, our guide on what to do if a cleaner breaks something explains how we handle it.

How does Shining Cleanse set its prices?

We are not the cheapest cleaning company in Snohomish County, and we do not try to be. We price home cleaning by work hours: $120 an hour for the two of us, which is $60 per person-hour. Two of us for 3 hours is 6 work hours, $360, with professional equipment, insurance and the drive included.

We quote a fixed number of work hours in writing before we come, from 2–4 photos or a short description. A first standard clean is $240 for a studio or 1 bedroom (4 work hours), $300 for 2 bedrooms and $360 for 3 bedrooms; a deep clean starts at $300. If a job needs more time, we text you before the booked hours are up and continue only with your yes. The full list is on our pricing page, and our guide to house cleaning cost in Snohomish and King County compares market rates.

If someone quotes a 2-bedroom standard clean far below $300, ask how many people come, how long they stay and what is included, then compare like for like. Not sure which service you need? Read standard cleaning vs deep cleaning first.
